Magic Candle Setup Instructions

Enter your Magic Candle's IP address in your browser on your computer to control your candle without an app. To find the IP address of your Magic Candle, check your Router or use the WLED App.

You can select a primary, secondary, and tertiary color for your magic candle. Please note, these custom colors are only used in the 5 custom color palettes that start with a *. All other color palettes use their own colors.

Select one of the 5 color palettes that begin with * to use your custom colors, all color palettes below use their own colors.

Over 50 premade color palettes are included! Tap on any to instantly apply it to your candle.

Tap 'Effects' at the bottom of the app or website to select from over 100 different effects and patterns

Adjust the effect speed and intensity using the sliders above the effect list

Your Magic Candle will include a few presets including:

• Candle - The Magic Candle

• Night - A much dimmer version of the candle

• Flame On - You can use this to turn the candle flame on independently of any LED effects. 

• Flame Off - You can use this to turn the candle flame off independently of any LED effects. 

To create your own Presets, simply set up the candle however you want (specify colors, an effect, speed, brightness, etc.) and then tap the [ + Create preset ] button to save your preset. If you want to turn the candle flame on/off with your preset, see the next section.

To adjust advanced preset settings, tap the arrow  on the right side of the preset name. You can 

1. Rename the preset

2. Specify a quick load emoji that will show above the list

3. Replace the preset with the current settings (to update it or replace it entirely)

4. Permanently delete the preset

To adjust advanced preset settings, tap the arrow  on the right side of the preset name. 

1. Save your preset and tap the arrow to view the advanced settings

2. Copy and paste
   "MultiRelay":{"relay":0,"on":true},
   Into the text box between the first { and "on" (where the red line is in the screenshot)

3. It should look like the highlighted text in the bottom of the screenshot

4. Tap save changes

Follow the previous steps under "Turn Flame On In Preset", just replace the word true with false

Your Magic Candle includes a button on the bottom of the candle that can be activated by picking up and gently setting the candle back down. This allows you to quickly load your favorite presets without needing to pull your phone out. There are three quick load presets available:

1. Quickly pick up and set candle down

2. Quickly pick up and set candle down twice (like a double click)

3. Pick up candle for 2-3 seconds and set down

To pick your own presets for the 3 options, tap the Config button on the top right

Select [ Time & Macros ] from the list

Scroll down to Button actions and specify the preset number for each quick load preset (short, long, double).

Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom and tap the [ Save ] button!

Tap the Config button on the top right  and then tap on [ Time & Macros ] (see screenshots above) then:

1. Tap the checkbox to enable the NTP server (get the time from the internet)

2. Set your timezone

3. If you want to use sunrise/sunset times, set your Latitude / Longitude 

Scroll down to Time-controlled presets (at the bottom of the page)

Set the hour, minute, and preset number that you want activated at this time.

To run presets only on specific days of the week or days of the year, tap the calendar icon next to the preset.

Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom and tap the [ Save ] button!

To enable control with your Alexa devices:

Tap the Config button on the top right

Tap on [ Sync Interfaces ]

Scroll down to Alexa Voice Assistant

1. Check the box for "Emulate Alexa Device"

2. Give your candle a name

3. Ask Alexa to "discover devices" 

4. You should now be able to say Alexa, Candle On

Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom and tap the [ Save ] button!

Tap the timer button to fade the light off automatically after 60 minutes.  

1. Tap the Config Button in the top right corner and tap the [ LED Preferences ] button

2. Scroll down to Timed light

3. Specify the duration

Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom and tap the [ Save ] button!

If you want to use the timer as something other than a sleep timer (i.e. timeout light).

1. Follow instruction in previous section to specify the duration, also change the "Default Target Brightness" to your desired brightness (0 being off and 255 being maximim brightness)
   THEN

2. Tap the Config Button in the top right corner and tap the [ Time & Macros ] button

3. Scroll down to Macro Presets

4. Set the "Countdown-Over Preset" to your desired preset number. When the Timer expires, this preset will be loaded.

Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom and tap the [ Save ] button!

Your Magic Candle is pre-set for a 1A USB adapter. To increase the brightness by using a more powerful adapter: tap the Config button on the top right  and then tap on [ LED Preferences ]. Enter the power rating of your adapter in mA (2A = 2000 mA) and tap [ Save ] at the top.
