How long does it take to recharge SpectaculEARS?
If the battery is completely empty, it will take about 2.5 hours to fully recharge.
Can I use my SpectaculEARS while they're charging?
Please don't wear your SpectaculEARS while they're charging, however they can be left plugged in indefinitely and turned on (just not while you're wearing them).
Can I leave my SpectaculEARS plugged in forever?
Yes, your SpectaculEARS can be left plugged in and turned on indefinitely and this will not hurt the battery. You can connect them to your home Wi-Fi and control them with your devices and Alexa/Hue. See the Setup Instructions for how to use them as a timer, schedule lights on/off, and more.
How many SpectaculEARS can be synced together?
You can sync up to 8 hats together without using a personal hotspot. You can sync as many hats as your personal hotspot will allow (check with your carrier - even though SpectaculEARS do not connect to the internet this setting is still controlled by your carrier).
Can I pack my SpectaculEARS in my checked baggage?
No, SpectaculEARS contain a lithium battery just like a cell phone and should be packed in your carry-on (or worn on your flight).
Can I change the color of each ear separately?
Yes, you can control the outer ring and inner ear independently for each ear. This gives you 4 different "Zones" you can set to different colors or effects, or turn on/off.
How can I display my SpectaculEARS when I'm not wearing them?
We recommend using 'Bump Cap' inserts for baseball caps to display your SpectaculEARS when you're not wearing them. These inserts will help your hat keep its shape and look amazing - we use them for all of our photos. You can find these at most hardware stores or on amazon. With the insert, your hat will look great sitting on a shelf or using one of many hat stands available at your favorite retailer. You can use any USB C cable to power your SpectaculEARS when on display, so you can get the color and length that suits your decor.
Can I wear my SpectaculEARS backwards?
Sure! There's nothing on the back of the hat, however the ears are slightly angled to look best when the hat is worn traditionally and may look odd if worn backwards.
I connected to the SpectaculEARS Wi-Fi once, but now it's gone‽
If you tapped on the 'Sign in to Wi-Fi' prompt on your phone after connecting it to your SpectaculEARS and then entered your home Wi-Fi information, your hat has stopped making its own 'SpectaculEARS-xxxx' Wi-Fi and has connected to your home Wi-Fi. Please download the WLED app to use your SpectaculEARS on your home Wi-Fi.
If you turn your hat on away from home, it will make the SpectaculEARS Wi-Fi again so that you can control it away from home.
