Quick Start
Flip your Magic QR Code over and plug in a USB C cable
Battery models: flip over and turn the power switch to 'on' - (up)Press the button on the back of the Magic QR Code to cycle through effects or turn on/off (change in settings)
Scan the QR Code on the Quick Start Guide to connect to the built-in WiFi, or connect manually by opening your phone's WiFi settings and connecting to the Magic QR Code WiFi network using the password itmightbemagic (all lowercase)

Connecting to your Magic QR Code
Point your phone camera at the WiFi QR code on your Quick Start Guide. You can also open your WiFi settings and connect to the Magic QR Code WiFi Network using the password itmightbemagic (all lower case).
If your device asks you to “Sign in” to the network, great! You’ll be taken straight to the Magic QR Code settings page. If you don’t see a “Sign in” button, open your internet browser (Chrome, Safari, etc) and go to http://4.3.2.1/ (if you see a security warning, you may need to click 'Advanced' and/or 'Proceed')
Some phones will disconnect from the internet when connected to your Magic QR Code. When you're done creating the perfect effect, simply return to your Wi-Fi settings to disconnect from your Magic QR Code. There's no need to forget/remove the connection, simply tap your QR Code next time you want to adjust settings and you should be connected without needing to enter a password or scan a code.
Install the App (Optional)
Tip: You don't need to install any apps to use your Magic QR Code. Simply connect to your Magic QR Code's WiFi and open your browser to http://4.3.2.1/ to use the built-in web app!
Colors
Custom Colors
You can select a primary, secondary, and tertiary color for your Magic QR Code. Please note, these custom colors are only used in the 5 custom color palettes that start with a *. All other color palettes use their own colors.

Select one of the 5 color palettes that begin with * to use your custom colors, all color palettes below use their own colors.
Built-in Palettes
Over 50 premade color palettes are included! Tap on any to instantly apply it to your Magic QR Code.
Use your favorite colors with over 100 different effects! See the next section below.

Tap 'Effects' at the bottom of the app or website to select from over 100 different effects and patterns

Adjust the effect speed and intensity using the sliders above the effect list

Default Presets
Your Magic QR Code will include a variety of demo effects to show off your QR Code.
Create Your Own Presets
To create your own Presets, simply set up the Magic QR Code however you want (specify colors, an effect, speed, brightness, etc.) and then tap the [ + Create preset ] button to save your preset. If you want to set individual effects for the QR Code / Tagline, see the Advanced Effects section, below.
Advanced Preset Settings
To adjust advanced preset settings, tap the arrow on the right side of the preset name. You can
Rename the preset
Specify a quick load emoji that will show above the list
Replace the preset with the current settings (to update it or replace it entirely)
Permanently delete the preset
Choosing The 'Power On' Preset
Specify which preset loads automatically when you turn your Magic QR Code on!
Select "LED Preferences"
Tap "LED Preferences" in the menu.
Scroll down about half way
Look for the "Apply Preset [___] at boot..." blank and fill it in with your favorite preset number.
(You can also use a playlist number here to automatically cycle through your favorite effects!)
Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom and tap the [ Save ] button!
Changing The Quick Access (Mode button) Presets
Quick Access Presets
Your Magic QR Code has a button on the back that allows you to quickly switch between your favorite presets. There are three quick load presets available:
Click the button once
Double click the button
Press and hold button
To pick your own presets for the 3 options, tap the Config button on the top right
Note: You can set all 3 presets to 0 and the hat will cycle through a variety of effects when you press the button.

Advanced Effects/Presets
Setting a different effect for QR Code and Tagline
To apply an effect to a specific zone:
Tap the "Segments" button at the bottom of the screen.
Check the boxes for the sections you want to update.
Set the effect as desired - return to "Segments" screen and check box(es) for next segment(s) (and uncheck current segment) or just tap one segment to continue configuring your SpectaculEARS.
To apply one effect to both the QR Code and the Tagline, select the [ Reset segments ] button. Don't worry, to get the segments back just select any existing preset that has per-section effects.
Make sure to save your changes by creating a new preset or updating an existing one!
Using your Magic QR Code on your Home or Office Wi-Fi
You can connect your Magic QR Code to your home or office Wi-Fi to sync it with Philips Hue, control with Alexa, schedule on/off, etc.
